League Gothic Font is an updated take on one of our most-beloved fonts: It is called Alternate Gothic. Created by Morris Fuller Benton for American Type Founders Company in 1903 although the company went bankrupt in 1993, the creation of this font is prior to 1923 thus making it public property.
We then chose to come up with our own version and submit it to Open Source Type Movement. I am grateful to everyone at WND and those who shared their time with me patiently. at font-com, the glyph has been updated by Micah Rich, Tyler Finck and Dannci who added more glyphs.
