Cormorant Garamond Font is a sans serif font which is a free display type family created by Christian Thalmann. The project is currently made up of 45 font files, 9 visual classes: Roman, Italic, Infant, Infant-Italic, Garamond; Garamond-italic; Upright-Cursive; SC & Unicase and five weight classes: Light, Regular, Medium, Semi-Bold & Bold. Cormorant was designed, constructed and optimised with letter spacing, letter kerning, programmed, and finally bi-cubed interpolated on Macintosh by Christian Thalmann of Catharsis Fonts.
Nevertheless, as noted, this project was inspired in large part by Garamont’s timeless contributions to fonts; however, Christian did not base the designs or templates on any particular font. It was not common for him to turn to Garamond often for reference because most of the glyphs he created from scratch – when he did need an source to follow for a certain character, he typed Garamond into the search engine and quickly browsed through the results just to get a feel.
