La Liga Font is Spain’s prestigious football league and one of the premier leagues globally. Its official name is Nacional de Liga de Primera Division; its secondary acronym is Primera Division; with 20 teams competing each season, three of the bottom teams move down into Segunda Division while those that come in first are given priority to remain in LaLiga’s premier division.
Since it began on 29 November 1929, 62 teams have participated in this tournament, under Jose Maria Acha Larrea as its founder and Liga Nacional de Futbol Profesional as its governing body.
