Benton Sans Font is an electronic typeface family created by Tobias FrereJones in 1995 and later expanded by Cyrus Highsmith of Font Bureau. It is a revised variant of Benton Gothic developed for various corporate customers under FrereJones’ direction; during development Frere-Jones studied drawings by Morris Fuller’s 1908 style of News Gothic at the Smithsonian Institution as reference for developing it further.
Initialy known as MSL Gothic, benton Gothic has seven weights from Thin to Black in seven weight ranges and two widths to accommodate.
