Cambria Font is an elongated serif typeface created and licensed to Microsoft for release with both Windows and Office. Designed by Dutch typeface designer Jelle Bosma in 2004, this typeface was heavily influenced by Steve Matteson and Robin Nicholas when creating it as body text typeface; proportional spacing equalizer.

Clear Type Font Collection, created by different designers and distributed as part of Windows Vista, includes Calibri as part of its collection of fonts that begin with C to identify those designed to work in Microsoft’s Clear Type text rendering engine designed for users with LCD monitors. Other fonts belonging to this category include Candara Consolas Constantia and Corbel.
