Marlboro Font is a new slab serif typeface developed by IMSI MasterFonts in the year 2000 by Dieter Steffmann for application in logo designs. Marlboro Font has similarities with this famous serif font applied in its production, for example, it has a similar shape and proportions to the font used for logos.
Marlboro cigarettes made its debut for sale in 1942 in America and is to this date one of the most recognized cigarette brands worldwide. They are named for Great Marlborough Street in London; as their business has grown, so has the recognition of their font.
